Well, here is first bat of the year post for 2021. It was quite likely to have been a Common pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pipistrellus) or Soprano pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pygmaeus), impossible to tell them apart in flight without a bat detector (The common pipistrelle uses a call of 45 kHz, while the soprano pipistrelle echolocates at 55 kHz).

This is the latest first sighting I have had since first recording them in this blog, but then it has been an unusually cold April this year.
